Dr. Ruth Wilkins THRIVE Educational Services Founder and President
Dr. Ruth Wilkins is the founder of THRIVE Educational Services. She is also the Executive Director of the THRIVE Upward Bound Programs. Dr. Wilkins has been working for TRIO and in higher education for over 20 wonderful years.
TRIO is a group of federally funded programs with the goal of assisting students from middle school to college in their pursuit of higher education.
The programs provide mentoring, academic, financial, and cultural services for their students.
Dr. Wilkins started her TRIO journey working for the Talent Search program and
transitioned to the Upward Bound Program. Dr. Wilkins is excited to help her participants “THRIVE” into success.
Mrs. Elizabeth St. Brice THRIVE Educational Services Co-Founder
Mrs. Elizabeth St. Brice, is the Co-Founder of THRIVE Educational Services. Mrs. St. Brice is dedicated to the vision and mission of THRIVE and welcomes the opportunity to assist individuals with their academic goals.
She also serves as a personal injury/criminal defense Paralegal.
Mrs. St. Brice is a proud TRIO Alumni, with over 5 years of combined TRIO
Volunteer/work experience. Mrs. St. Brice stated that if not for TRIO she would not be who she is today.
TRIO is what drives her passion for education.
Dr. Moise Jean THRIVE Educational Services Vice President
Dr. Moise Jean, is Internal Medicine Physician at Kaiser Permanente. He has served as a Kaiser physician for the past 7 years. Dr. Jean’s practice is focused on disease prevention, managing chronic conditions and treating acute issues.
As a clinician, he uses evidence-based medical practices, vaccinations, listening and detailed examinations to provide compassionate care to his
patients.
Dr. Lourdes L. Bastas THRIVE Educational Services Treasurer
Dr. Lourdes L. Bastas is the Research and Sponsored Programs Director at Georgia Gwinnett
College. She is the key resource to principal investigators in all matters related to providing
guidance and oversight for administering research grants and sponsored programs through all
stages of the award cycle. She facilitates and fosters responsible stewardship of funds and
ensures the college policies for sponsored activities.
Dr. Bastas provides timely, accurate, and courteous consultation to faculty, external sponsors, and
other college personnel to exercise good management practices and ensure proposals and awards
comply with the college's internal policies and funding agency's regulations.
She offers academic and sponsored research skills, proactive strategies, and guidance to support
THRIVE Educational Services' goals of ensuring student participants' success in their academic
or career journey. Dr. Bastas has 30 years of professional experience in higher education,
including serving in various roles at PUI, R1, Ivy League, State, and Private Institutions.
Mrs. Sabrina Stubbs THRIVE Educational Services Secretary
Mrs. Sabrina Stubbs has worked in higher education for over 14 years. Mrs. Stubbs is currently the Director for the Upward Bound Program at Atlanta Metropolitan State College.
She assists students in removing barriers, so they may be successful in high school with the end goal of not just enrolling in college but to graduate from college.
Mrs. Stubbs has been with the Upward Bound program for 6 years and finds that it is a very humbling and rewarding job; knowing that you are making a difference in the lives of youth.
Mr. Steve Bernard THRIVE Educational Services Board of Directors Member
Steve Bernard is the Vice President of Operations for Jasber Groups he has served in this role for the past 25 years. Jasber Group is a conservation, preservation and revitalization company with three subsidiaries Jasber Utility Services, Jasber Management Services, and Jasber Plaza in Forest Park.
Mr. Bernard is a native of Jamaica and has sown roots in the south side of Georgia since 1995. Mr. Bernard created Yo-Jay’s, a frozen yogurt franchise when he discovered that existing franchises were reluctant to locate on the south side of Atlanta.
He is proud that his businesses are located in Clayton County.
